GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. – Two men have been arrested after authorities caught them with more than 500 pounds of marijuana worth roughly $1.2 million.
The Gwinnett Metro Task Force received word of a suspicious U-Haul truck in the area. Investigators spotted it near Cedars Road at Highway 16 around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday and with the help of Lawrenceville Police they performed a traffic stop. That’s when a police K-9 officer, trained to detect narcotics, indicated something was inside the vehicle.
PEOTONE TWP. (STMW) – The Will County sheriff’s deputies seized about $250,000 worth of cocaine during a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon in south suburban Peotone.
About 3:15 p.m. deputies were driving on Wilmington-Peotone Road near Route 50 when they saw the driver of a Ford F-350 pickup commit a traffic violation, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.
